Wow, I'm really terrible at these things.
I am well into my second semester of my first year of college and the stress is building up. Thoughts of what I really want to do and if this is the right match for me plague my mind.
I feel like I need to get myself out there more. So if anyone has any interesting art related activities/events going on let me know.

The Human Centipede
So last night I had the pleasure of watching The Human Centipede. I'm sure many of you have heard of it, but who here has dared to watch it? Well I will tell you right now, it isn't as disgusting as everyone makes it out to be. They don't show enough to really get under your skin.
So I got bored and decided to do this...
Here's a quick summary *spoiler alert*:
Basically there is a nut job scientist (Dr. Heiter) who is obsessed with joining things together. He let's two american female tourists into his home, then drugs them for his experiment. Now, these girls are VERY stupid..there are many points when they should have been like.."Oh shit, somethings not right." But instead they just sat on his couch like fools. They awake in a cellar strapped to stretchers next to a strange man. The doctor then walks up next to the man saying "Sorry, you don't match up, you have to die." Then procedes to inject air into his veins.
Later, he abducts an Asian man who can not speak a word of english. He explains to the three that he is going to turn them into, "A Human Centipede" by connecting their gastric systems(yes, that means when the first one defecates it goes through all three bodies" not a pretty image... one of the girls later attempts to escape(and fails miserably) The doctor then continues with the surgery.
When the victims awake they are attached exactly as the doctor had explained. He then proceeds to treat them like a dog (i.e. making them fetch, locking them up in a kennel). They try to fight back but with little success. A day or two later he is inspecting them and finds that the last person (one of the american girls is sick and will probably die. Then there is a knock at the door and it ends up being the police.
He locks them in the cellar and goes to talk to them. After much arguing the police say they are coming back with a search warrent. Meanwhile the victims have escaped and attack Dr. Heiter. He is unable to walk and they try to flee by going up the stairs. After finally realizing they are trapped the Asian man proceeds to slit his own throat. The police are back and the Doctor crawls down to the basement by the pool. One of the policemen stumble upon the centipede and runs away in horror. The other officer has found his way down to the basement and already been shot and killed by Heiter. The other one trys to avenge his friend but is shot in the process, although he does manage to get a bullet into Heiter's head.
Now we return to the centipede. The two girls are crying and holding hands as the girl in the rear passes away...then let the credits roll.
So yeah, It mainly wasn't gory enough for me. The whole concept was pretty disturbing though. Hope this helps you for those who don't want to see it! :)

A little update

I'm pretty bad at this, but I am going to try and update more often!
Christmas break has been good/bad. Nice because I can relax..but bad because people are stupid and cause never-ending drama.
I can't wait to go back to St. Paul on Monday though. :)
Dealing with idiots at Wendy's is not my idea of fun..but hey, it's extra cash right?
On the brighter side I got to do some sketching...mainly of clopin though(nerd alert).
I wish I had something exciting to talk about but I don't so until next time...

Why hello there.
My name is Kaitlin Santoro, but please call me Katie. I decided that to keep my sanity through the next four years I should blog about it here.
I am a student at the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul, Minnesota. I hope to major in illustration and eventually become an animation artist. I have an extreme obsession with disney as you will soon come to find out.
Well, I enjoy my blog, hopefully I don't bore you too much. :)
It's almost the end of the first semester and things are starting to pile up. Way too many projects are due in the next few weeks and to top it all off I've been sick for the past week and have a toothache that could knock down an elephant. But I will continue to keep my head up.
